Dear Keith,
Just about a year ago I entered into a house building contract with Sawlor Construction. I have spent my entire working career in the heavy construction industry managing contracts and contractors, some contractors were difficult, others impossible. Before entering into any of those contracts; I always sought out three bids and made a selection based on my opinion of “best total value”. When it came to building my own house, I let you, your model home, and your reputation convince me that there was no need to bid the work. You had advised me that you would not be the lowest price, had I bid the work, but were not pushy and left the decision up to me. So, contrary to my training and my best instincts, I entered into the contract without competitively bidding the work.
As you may recall, I had some trepidation about this decision at the time. The quality of the finished product and your professional approach to managing the total building experience proved to me that I made the right decision. I am convinced that I could have built the house for a few less dollars, but I think that the quality that I received from Sawlor Construction was worth the few dollars more that I expended.
I was very impressed with the personal attention to the project, from our first exploratory meeting to the closing day. You were always accessible to answer my most irritating and unending questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner. Through my professional career I have known many contractors, those who bid low and make money on extras, those who try to cut corners on lump sum bids and those who are just plain dishonest. You personally, your sub trades and your direct staff have made me realize that all contractors are not created equal. More importantly you proved that trepidation of a year ago was unfounded.
It really was a pleasure working with you on this project, and I have no reservations about recommending your services to any one looking to build a quality home.
Thank you and I wish you continued success with your company.
Yours very truly,
Greg & Sara

So do you find the lot and then hire a builder, or vice versa?
Why Should You Consider Custom Cabinetry for Your New Home?
Custom cabinetry allows for complete flexibility in its design, compared to “off-the-shelf” cabinets from your local building supply store. With custom cabinetry, you’re not limited to standard sizes and materials.
What to Consider When Selecting Your Builder

This is the 5th house we have had built over the years by 5 different builders, and without question this one is the best. It is not only the quality...
