Choosing Your Paint Colors

When choosing paint colors for your new home, you will want to consider things like your flooring or the amount of lighting you have. Remember the style and design of the home.  Consider which design trends you want to follow.  To help you get started with design ideas you could browse through magazines, visit home improvement stores, search the internet, and photo galleries.

Choose hues that fit your personal style and taste, making sure that these colors match your design. For example contemporary colors often consist of:

  • Beige
  • Ivory
  • Blue
  • Tan

 More traditional hues include:

  •  deep reds
  • dark browns
  • darker yellows

Remember to begin with common areas first so that all of your choices flow nicely from the main areas. Quite often your Builder will have an Interior Decorator available to help you select paint colors as well as many other products for your new home.
